Meeting Minutes 8th June 2006

Present: Mark, Jimena, Dan, Marina, Sarah, Charlotte, Virginia

We kicked off with some tasty food (including cake) before moving on to discuss the event for the international festival on Sat 21st October.

Event Publicity

It was decided to focus on schools w(primary and secondary) where Louise and Virginia already have contact and to approach teachers early to try to tie the event to curriculum activities, Duke of Edinburgh Award or key skills. The poster can be sent out to interested teachers in September or before if required.

Parent teacher associations might also be a means of attracting interest.

ACTION: Virginia to contact geography teacher (and geography teacher network?) and Louise

ACTION: Mark to speak to his boss/parent at a local school

New titles/advertising statements were suggested for the event which ties together issues of sustainability and happiness.

Reading grp: 15th June 8PM

This month we are watching two short films: One on an African initiative to reduce biopiracy, and an interview with the author of 'Confessions of an economic hitman.'

Please also bring a list of any things you would suggest for summer reading
