HOWTO add an animation to a Powerpoint presentation

Creating a image archive

First of all you need a set of GIF images that make up the animation. These need to be in 'order'. In otherwords, sucessive frames must been in the right order when you do a 'ls' on the directory. For exampled:

next use the /home/dan/bin/MakePC script to create a zip archive:
/home/dan/bin/MakePC Anim7
Where Anim7 is the directory containing the GIFs as above. This archive contains:

Transfer the zip archive to a PC

Ftp this archive to a directory on the PC.

Unzip this archive using Winzip etc. Take a note of the directory you unzip to.

Linking to Powerpoint

Within a powerpoint presentation, highlight a word you want to hyperlink to the animation and press CTRL+K.

Enter in the location of the webpage that was unzipped in the previous step.

When you run the presentation, clicking on the link should bring up a web browser with the animation contained within it.
