The variations
Lagoon: This is sort of a cross between
Texas Hold 'Em and Draw. One (or two) card(s) per player are placed in
the pool, half of them face-down and half face-up. Each player in
turn (anti-clockwise; opposite to betting direction) burns up to two
cards by placing them face-up in the pool and taking from the
pool. Alternatively, the order of card exchange can be decided by
bidding: the bids are all revealed simultaneously, the chips go into
the pot, with the highest bidder burning cards first. For equal bids
the order is clockwise from the dealer. Betting, as usual, occurs at
every opportunity.
Show your Drawers: Hi-lo draw, with two
optional burns of up to two cards. Cards given to a player are face
up. Order of players having cards swapped is reversed on second round.
BLG (Better to be Lucky than Good): Draw
with one optional first burn, followed by a compulsory four-card
burn. Only the Wildman could invent a skill-less game like this.
Dusty Bin: Draw with optional three-two-one
burns. Often played with wildcards 3-2-A of particular colours or
suits.
