Introduction

Skilful seasonal forecasts and reliable predictions of climate change have the potential to facilitate decision making and improve resource management. For this potential to be realised, however, coupled model analysis must be accessible to end users of climate research (impacts modellers and decision makers). One of the aims of COAPEC (Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Processes and European Climate) is to address the issue of bridging the gap between scientific output and societal needs (see the COAPEC science plan for more information).

This web site aims to provide information about:

  • COAPEC science - particularly aspects of relevance to end-users of climate data
  • Seasonal forecasting
  • the impacts of climate variability
