Home page for the Meteorology Department Badminton Ladder

Welcome to the home page of the Meteorology department badminton ladder. The current positions on the ladder are shown on the left and are determined by the points each players has. In the event of points begin tied then the player who had the least points at the start of the month is placed higher on the ladder. Everyone's points are re-calculated at the start of every month with each player receiving about double the points of the player below them.

Singles games

Enter completed and uncompleted (if you want) games below. All finished matches are assumed to be the best of 3 and so games where no player reached 2 games is assumed to be unfinished. For a best of 3 game the winner increases their points by their opponents points, e.g. a player with 16Ps (Ps are points) who beats a player with 8Ps will have 24Ps after the result is entered in the form below.

Doubles games

All games which are entered will count to the ladder. Anyone playing a round robin, i.e. just 1 game with each partnership, will need to enter the results individually and receive 1/3 the points for each game that you'd receive for playing the same fixture as a best of 3 game. For a best of 3 game the winning pair increase their points by

Players leaving and joining the ladder will alter the ladder positions, but will not effect the climbing stats, e.g. a new person joining the ladder will move everyone below them down one on the ladder, but it wont alter the places these players are deemed to of climbed on the ladder.
