How to set up a UM Aqua-Planet integration

These pages provide all the basic information you need to set up a basic aqua-planet experiment. The easiest way to do this is to copy a pre-existing experiment in the UMUI, but it also fairly straight-forward to adapt a "standard" UM experiment to run in aqua-planet mode. The list on the left gives information on the various aspects you will need to consider. It is important to read all these points before setting up an aqua-planet experiment for the first time.

A full set of aqua-planet ancillary files, including a selection of different SST distributions, can be downloaded from this page as a tar file. Each file has been gzipped. To use the ancillary files, place them in a directory on the computer you will be running the UM on, and include them in the relevant sections of the UMUI.

Just click on the filing cabinet icon below to download the tar file. The files are all at vn4.4 of the UM.
