Welcome to my Home Page. I am Ian James, a senior lecturer at the Department of Meteorology at Reading University. I have a BSc in physics from the University of Leeds (1969) and a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Manchester (1974). After working for a spell in the UK Meteorological Office, I joined the Department in 1979.
