New! My book, Stochastic Physics and Climate Modelling, co-edited with Tim Palmer, is now available!

Paul Williams

I am a Royal Society Research Fellow at the University of Reading, in the Department of Meteorology and the National Centre for Atmospheric Science. Before that, I was a NERC Fellow. My doctoral degree was taken in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford.

I study fundamental processes in the atmosphere and ocean, and their impacts on weather and climate, using mathematical theory, numerical models and laboratory experiments.

I am currently an Editor of Geophysical Research Letters.

I am currently advertising a PhD project. Click here for the project description, and click here to apply.
